The Proud Edition was a special-edition trim of the XV originally introduced (in Japan) to celebrate 50 years of Subarus boxer-engine legacy.
It is based on the XV 2.0i EyeSight variant, but with upgrades and cosmetic/styling / comfort-level enhancements over the standard model.
So rather than a whole new generation, Proud Edition is essentially a mid- or special-specification version of the standard XV meaning engine / drivetrain is same, but equipment and aesthetics are upgraded.
